
Edgar Cowen was formed in 2005 and we have been experiencing significant growth ever since, the company was formed by Andrew Pearson and soon after he was joined by Mark Ashton. Both directors have had over ten years of recruitment experience, and both directors still spend a significant proportion of their days engaged in recruitment activities, it is important to both directors that they lead their teams by example and they do that by being 'on the phones'.
Andrew formed the business with a clear idea as to how a recruitment company should be run, having worked for several agencies in the past. He took the best and worst from his previous experience, improving the things that work well and ensuring he didn't make the mistakes other companies had. Marks background was as the highest performing consultant in his previous company and he is now passing on that knowledge and expertise to the consultants in Edgar Cowen.
Initially Edgar Cowen was an IT recruiter, 3 months after its formation we opened our Property & Construction division and we have subsequently opened our Energy division with an emphasis on the upstream Oil & Gas industry.
We recruit both permanent and contract staff and our consultants specialise in vertical markets in geographical areas, what this means is that our consultants are specialists in their given fields allowing them to offer their clients a good pool of candidates, and candidates the highest possible number of opportunities.
